Template Markup for Inhertied Templates

Template markup from child templates are merged with the parents markup to create a single page layout, this is acheived by using the <placeholder> tag:

On the parent template, you would define a Placeholder Container area:

    <placeholder type="container" name="header"></placeholder>

And on the child template you would define a Placeholder Content area:

<placeholder type="content" name="header">This HTML / Markup will be merged with the parent Container: Header</placeholder>

When using the template editor the available placeholders from parent page templates are displayed in a drop down on the toolbar, this allows for easy reference and creation of the content placeholders.
